VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Washington State University Vancouver awarded 10 scholarships for the 2003 spring semester. The scholarships are supported by private gifts to WSU Vancouver from individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations. Individual awards range from $200-$5,000.

When the Vancouver campus was established in 1989, scholarship support was $500. Today, support is more than $1.6 million in annual and endowed scholarship funds. A total of 83 students have been awarded scholarships through WSU Vancouver for the 2002-2003 academic year.

“Scholarship support at WSU Vancouver has grown tremendously,” said Hal Dengerink, campus executive officer and dean. “Thanks to the continued support of community donors, we are able to help a growing number of students finance their education, particularly during this time of budget cuts.”
