Riverpoint Campus Master Plan First Community Workshop Features Health Sciences Expert

SPOKANE, Wash. –A health sciences expert who has been involved in the fact-finding stage of the Riverpoint Campus Master Plan process will present at the first community workshop, along with planning consultants and Washington State University Spokane Chancellor. The workshop will take place 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in room 20 of the Academic Center at Riverpoint.
Joseph Bloom, MD, is dean emeritus of the School of Medicine at Oregon Health and Sciences University, and professor emeritus of psychiatry. Dr. Bloom helped facilitate discussions with multiple programs of Washington State University, University of Washington, Eastern Washington University, and Sirti to determine facilities needs for planned growth in health sciences research and teaching on the campus.
Information presented will also include an overview of the campus academic vision and a summary of the recently completed Downtown Spokane Plan to assist in the update of the master plan for the Riverpoint Campus.
Coming to campus:
Transit: Visitors to campus may use Spokane Transit route #29.
Cyclists: Bike racks are available at all buildings.
Parking: A cash-only “pay and display” lot is available next to the South Campus Facility on the south side of Spokane Falls Blvd; parking is available at meters; or visitors may purchase a pass at the Parking Services office in the South Campus Facility for use in any lot.
