Clive Gay Receives WSU Emeritus Society Excellence Award

Click here to return PULLMAN, Wash.—Clive Gay, professor emeritus of veterinary clinical sciences, has received the 2009 Washington State University Emeritus Society Excellence Award for outstanding contributions while in retirement to academia, the university, the community and mankind.
 
A native of New Zealand and on the WSU faculty since 1979, Gay is senior author of “Large Animal Medicine,” a textbook used throughout the world, and co-author of a veterinary dictionary. His areas of research expertise include diseases of agricultural animals, neonatal calf disease and trace element deficiency.
 
Gay has been president of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association and remains active on its board of directors. Last fall, he was awarded honorary membership in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Gay participates in the Washington Idaho Symphony and in numerous community projects as a member of Kiwanis.
 
He will be honored with other annual award winners May 27 at WSU’s annual Showcase celebration of faculty and staff achievement.
