China: Energy, Economy and the World

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Asia Program Contemporary China Series presents “China: Energy, Economy and the World,” a lecture by David Fridley at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, in CUE 202.

Fridley is a staff scientist and leader at the China Energy Group in the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research involves extensive collaboration with the Chinese on end-use energy efficiency, industrial energy use, government energy management programs, data compilation and analysis and sustainable energy policy research.

Prior to joining the China Energy Group, Fridley worked on the China Energy Project at the East-West Center in Hawaii on issues relating to petroleum supply and demand, international oil trade and energy policy. A fluent Mandarin speaker, he has spent 25 years living and working in China.

This program is part of the National Committee on U.S.–China Relations’ Public Intellectuals Program and is underwritten by the Henry Luce Foundation and the Starr Foundation. Additional support for Fridley’s visit has been provided by the Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service and the Global Studies Minor.
