RICHLAND, Wash. —  Wine that highlights holiday meals is the topic of a Nov. 19 consumer seminar at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

“Pairing Food and Wine for Holiday Gatherings” will be presented by Andy Perdue, editor of Wine Press Northwest magazine, with Christopher Sagadin, wine steward at the Yoke's Fresh Market in West Richland.

Find out which wines go best with traditional entrees such as turkey and prime rib, and learn about other wines that will enhance a holiday gathering from the appetizers to dessert.

The seminar starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Consolidated Information Center, 2770 University Drive, Richland. Cost is $35 and participants must be at least 21 years old. Preregistration is required,  call 509-372-7606 or register online at http://www.tricity.wsu.edu/wine/.

The 2009-2010 Community Wine Education Series is offered by WSU Tri-Cities and the WSU Viticulture and Enology program.

Five seminars are planned in early 2010. The next session is Wine 101, an introduction to wine tasting, on Jan. 28.
