Evening of Song Recital by WSU Music Faculty Nov. 6 at WSU Tri-Cities

RICHLAND, Wash. — Washington State University School of Music faculty will present “An Evening of Song” recital Nov. 6 at WSU Tri-Cities.
Julie Anne Wieck, soprano, and Gerald Berthiaume, piano, will perform music by Purcell, Massenet, Saint-Saëns, Rachmaninoff and Wolf.
The recital is at 7 p.m. in the East Building Auditorium, 2710 University Drive, Richland. Admission is free and open to the public. The performance is part of the WSU Tri-Cities Liberal Arts Season of Events, sponsored by the Richland Arts Commission.
Berthiaume is director of the WSU School of Music and a professor of music keyboard. Wieck is an associate professor of music and coordinates the opera workshop and graduate studies in voice.
The two professors are spending Nov. 6 holding hold auditions at WSU Tri-Cities for regional students interested in attending the WSU Pullman School of Music as freshmen or transfer students. Students are encouraged to audition if they are considering being active in music as a major, minor or ensemble participant. Prospective music students should contact the School of Music at 509-335-2509 or berthia@wsu.edu to schedule an audition time. The auditions are closed except for parents of the student who is auditioning.
